Logan Pass Star Parties

Friday July 18. Friday August 1 and Friday August 15, 2013

Due to the popularity of these events, this summer, the Big Sky Astronomy Club and Glacier National Park will be hosting THREE star parties at the Visitors' Center at the summit of Going-To-The-Sun Road. The first event is tentatively set for Friday July 18, the second on Friday August 1 and the third on Friday August 15, with an option to hold them on the following nights (Saturday), in the event of inclement weather on the scheduled night.

Due to the limited amount of parking at the Visitors' Center, attendance at each event will be limited to ticket-holders. Each ticket will allow one vehicle and its occupants entrance to the event. Tickets will be available at various locations throughout the park as each of the event dates approach.

The Milky Way Over Logan Pass

Attendees at last year's events were treated to beautiful, clear skies, completely unaffected by light pollution. The inky-black skies at Logan Pass allow the summer Milky Way to fully display its awesome grandeur as shown in this striking image by Visiting Astronomer Ray Stinson.
